In single dwelling units, the sewage ejector or sewage pump receiving the discharge of water closets or urinals must be capable of passing a 1-1/2” diameter solid ball. (UPC 710.3)

Three-inch horizontal drainage piping must have a minimum grade/slope of 1/4 per foot.

The primary reason for installing backflow prevention devices is to prevent the pollution of the potable water.

Ballcocks in water closet tanks must be installed so that the critical level of the vacuum breaker or the bottom of the water inlet is above the full opening of the overflow pipe at least 1 inch.

Because of structural conditions, a 4-inch house drain is installed with a slope of 1/8 inch per foot. This installation will result in a reduction in fixture unit loading.

Appliances installed in garages, warehouses, or other areas subject to mechanical damage must be guarded against such damage by being installed behind protective barriers or by being elevated or located out of the normal path of vehicles. (UPC 507.13.1)

If approved compartment only has access from outside of the garage, appliances are permitted to be installed at floor level, provided the required combustion air is taken from and discharged to the exterior of the garage. [NFPA 54:9.1.10.3] (UPC 507.13.2)

Galvanized steel vent pipes with galvanized steel fittings must be kept above ground at least 6 inches.

The minimum size of a hydro-pneumatic tank for a single family residence is a 42 gallon tank.

Shower receptors must be tested for watertightness by filling with water to the level of the rough threshold. The test plug must be placed so that both upper and under sides of the subpan are subjected to the test at the point where it is clamped to the drain. (UPC 408.7.1)

An approved-type subdrain must be installed with a shower subpan or lining. Each such subdrain must be of the type that sets flush with the subbase and must be equipped with a clamping ring or other device to make a tight connection between the lining and the drain. The subdrain must have weep holes into the waste line. The weep holes located in the subdrain clamping ring must be protected from clogging. (UPC 408.7)

The maximum distance between a gas outlet for a barbecue or fireplace and an approved operating valve is 4 feet.

Copper pans or liners must be not less than 24 Bands Gauge. (UPC 408.7)

Closet rings (closet flanges) for water closets or similar fixtures must be of an approved type and must be made of bronze, copper, hard lead, cast-iron, galvanized malleable iron, ABS, PVC, or other approved materials. (UPC 402.6.1)
